Rice Library’s Special Tips for Distance Education / Off-Campus Students
This document includes six separate tips which will be worth knowing about
if you are a distance
education student attempting to do university-level study and library research
at the University of
Southern Indiana.
Looking for full-text articles?
In most of the library subscription databases, you can limit your search to
full-text articles, articles that you can print off the computer. If you need
just one article, limiting your search to full-text might be a good strategy.

librarians and faculty. If you are a faculty member and would like to help
populate any of these custom search engines for student use, please email
smetcalf@usi.edu. If you are a USI student
and would like to recommend a particular web site that you have found useful

Using Journal Finder
Journal Finder allows you to enter a title of a journal to see if the Rice
Library has full-text access to that journal or if the library subscribes
to the print edition of that same journal. Use
Journal Finder to search for a Journal Title (example: Journal of Mass Media
Ethics), to see if the journal is available in full-text in one or more of
the library's 60+ databases. Do not use Journal Finder to search for articles.
