Education:

I believe in education and life long learning!

My education began on the day I was born.  My parents continually preached to their nine children that the way to success was with an education.  They made possible an opportunity for a college education for all of their nine children.

My travels in education began at Hollister High School in a graduating class of 23.  I  began a journey of learning and exploring my horizons at Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri. I’ve never regretting the path I’ve chosen!

Clinical practice

My most recent experience in nursing has been in wound and ostomy care.  I worked for five years as a wound nurse in an acute care hospital and wound care center.

I’ve worked in many positions in my career…. staff nurse, obstetrical nurse, school nurse, nursing educator, and wound nurse.  Each role has a unique and wonderful aspect of nursing.  That’s the best thing about nursing: there are many opportunities and roles to learn and enjoy!  It is never boring!

Community Work.

I believe God has blessed me abundantly with a wonderful family and career.
