WHY I LOVE MY PROFESSION
I chose radiology because I wanted
to be in the fast paced atmosphere of the healthcare setting, be apart of
growing and developing technology, and I wanted to get up close and personal
with people. Of course I could have chosen another healthcare profession,
but I like the opportunity to take care of numerous individuals in one day.
I also was enamored by the numerous imaging modalities within the radiology
profession (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Therapy).
For me, that meant numerous educational opportunities!
While I have the opportunity now to share my acquired knowledge and skills with developing technologists, I still practice in the radiology profession today. I want to stay current in my skills, learn new skills, and still maintain that up close and personal relationship with patients. After working in this field for over ten years, I can’t say that I regret anything. I love the interesting cases and studies performed in CT and MRI. I love the challenges of new technologies and tests to be performed. I love the diagnosis of pathology and disease process. Most of all I love the fellowship that is acquired when you work with individuals who love their profession just as much
