RESEARCH/GRANTS
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana grant for the annual Community First Health Fair (2003).  Funding requested to cover influenza vaccine, medical and other supplies for the health fair.  This health fair targets the medically indigent population in our community and has specific objectives to reach increase minority participation.
 
Welborn Foundation grant for the Southwestern Indiana Regional Perinatal Advisory Board to fund a Project Coordinator position.  Grant was funded for 2003 and re-funded for 2004..  Responsible for co-management of the grant.  Areas of focus for the grant include public education on smoking cessation in pregnancy and safe sleep practices for infants, identification of local preterm/low birthweight epidemiology, home interviews with families experiencing fetal or infant loss for the Fetal and Infant Mortality Review program (FIMR), coordination of a workplace prenatal education initiative, and education of health care providers in smoking cessation techniques for use with clients.

November 1997 Recipient of Foundation  for Community Health grant of $35,130 to implement a camp for children with moderate to severe asthma during the summers of 1998, 1999, and 2000.

$8,000 grant from Indiana Perinatal Network to implement a program to increase provider and consumer education related to improved perinatal outcomes.  Opportunity provided to the Southwestern Indiana Regional Perinatal Advisory Board as a “pilot project” as a result of the Board’s history of success in projects to date.  Approved March 2001.

Toyota Motors Manufacturing, Inc. (2001)Grant for the Regional Perinatal Advisory Board to purchase Baby Keep Safe Bracelets for the purpose of parent education for prevention of infant mortality

Principle grant writer for Community Health Center of Evansville, Inc. (formerly Washington Avenue Health Care Center) initial federal funding (Public Health Service Section 330 grant).

Foundation for Community Health grant for Cardiovascular Health Promotion Project with Glenwood Middle School (November 1995 - June 1997).
