Library Resources for Health Services
The following are lists of varied resources for researching health services
topics in the USI Library. Included are print reference material, citation
and full-text databases, titles of relevant journals, and subject headings
of books listed in the online catalog. The best library resource of all
however, is the Reference Librarian- please ask for assistance with anything
on this list, or with any other library questions you may have.

Electronic Databases
The library offers access to a variety of Web-based databases for journal indexing, some with full text of articles as well as citations or abstracts. Listed below are resources for health, science, social sciences, and business. Please ask the Reference Librarian for assistance in their use.

is Indiana’s virtual library, offering commercial databases and other electronic
resources. There are two "interface" options, and the librarians recommend
using the EbscoHost Interface Version 2. Databases of particular

The library’s online catalog is Voyager, a product of Endeavor Information Systems. It allows several search modes in a Windows or web-based environment (http://libserv.usi.edu/). You can search for books, videos, government publications, and other library materials (but not individual journal articles) by author, title, keyword, or assigned subject heading. Here are some suggested subject headings for health services; most are then subdivided by "subheadings."
The Reference Librarian will instruct you in the use of the online catalog.

Click on the Beyond the Library button to link to business, management,
medicine, and health science sites. For example, using the Medicine and
Health Sciences Resources category, click on National Library of Medicine
to get to the PubMed or GratefulMed databases.
