Instruction Method
Programs include instructor provided information,
post test and evaluation form. To receive continuing education credit,
the participant completes the registration, post test and evaluation form
and submits to the university online. A minimum score of 70% is required
for contact hour credit. Scores under 70% will require retaking the exam.
Once the University of Southern Indiana receives these materials, a certificate
of completion will be mailed.
Please allow two to four weeks for delivery.
Prices effective through December 2009.
Delegation in Nursing
This course is designed to provide staff nurses and nurse managers with knowledge of delegation. Emphasis is placed the scope of practice of personnel, the five rights of delegation and strategies to effectively delegate. This course also provide websites for additional information on delegation.

Cost Benefit Analysis
This course is designed to provide case managers with knowledge of cost benefit analysis. Emphasis is placed on advantages and disadvantages of cost benefit analysis, the historic aspects of cost benefit analysis, the reasons a case manager would use cost benefit analysis, and a design for presenting cost benefit analysis. Through the use of case studies and discussions, this course prepares students to utilize cost benefit analysis to demonstrate the quality and cost effectiveness of the selected care option.

Negotiating for Services
This course is designed to provide case managers with the tools needed for effective negotiation. Negotiating for fees can be intimidating and the desired outcome is a mutually agreeable point that is beneficial for all parties. Content includes the steps of negotiation, the critical elements, and some practical tips for negotiation.

Evidence Based Practice (EBP)
This course is designed to provide case mangers with an introduction to Evidence Based Practice (EBP). Emphasis is placed on identifying the steps of EBP and the usefulness of EBP for case managers.

Advancing Desired Continuing Care Outcomes
