ORAL HEALTH INTERVENTIONS FOR INFANTS, CHILDREN
AND TEENS NO. HPR881
This course is designed for the dentist, dental hygienist, and dental
assistant. Interactions with patients from infancy to adolescence
offer the dental professional numerous opportunities to intervene
and deliver comprehensive quality dental care. The relationship
established with children and teens is crucial to developing a lifetime
of good oral health. Learn to anticipate developmental needs that
will enhance the communication process with both parents and children,
increasing the success of any intervention strategy. Learn and review
the components of the perinatal and infant visits including the
challenges of ‘access to care’. Explore current caries
risk assessments, the utilization of minimally invasive treatment
options, adolescent behaviors that challenge quality oral health
and emerging dental technologies. The University of Southern Indiana
is an approved provider for CE credits by the Indiana Health Professions
Bureau and the Illinois Board of Dentistry. This course has been
approved for 3 contact hours by the Kentucky Board of Dentistry
(Provider number: 2520) and application has been made to DANB.
