

Applying to the Respiratory Therapy Program
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Respiratory Therapy Program is to provide sound instruction and resources that will enable students to develop the knowledge, skills, attitude, and critical thinking which are necessary to become successful and competent respiratory therapists. The Respiratory Therapy Program fosters and promotes health and wellness through the advancement of education, teaching excellence, practice, research, community engagement and a commitment to lifelong learning.
PROGRAM GOALS
About USI's Respiratory Therapy Program
The University of Southern Indiana offers a two-year program in respiratory therapy, culminating in an Associate of Science degree. All core curriculum courses and most respiratory therapy courses are given at the University campus. Clinical training is provided at Deaconess Hospital,Gateway,Community Methodist, Owensboro, Select, Vincennes, and St. Mary's Medical Center, under qualified medical supervision. The combination of academic work, clinical rotations, and physician contact provides the student with an intense preparation necessary for an exciting, rewarding career as a respiratory therapist. Enrollment is limited and applications to the program should be submitted before April 1 of the year the applicant desires entrance into the program. Accreditation Program outcomes data relative to credentialing success, program attrition, job placement, program enrollment, and graduation rates is available on the CoARC website. |
