BSN Program: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often do you select a class?
A: A class is selected during the fall semester.

Q: When is the application deadline?

A: Applications are accepted throughout the year. The deadline for the applications is August 1 every year regardless of the day of week that date falls on.

Q: What G.P.A. is required?

A: You can view the GPA requirements on our Admissions page.

Q: What are the requirements?

A: You can view the necessary requirements on our Admissions page.

Q: What is the pre-admission nursing test and how do I enroll for it?
A: The pre-admission nursing test is designed for students who do not have the required SAT or ACT test. Information about the exam is available upon request.

Q: How long is the program?
A: Nursing is a 4 year bachelors degree program.

Q: Do I need official transcripts?
A: Official high school and college transcripts must be sent to USI Admissions with the application to USI.

Q: What is required for application to the program?
A: You must apply to USI and be accepted. You must apply to the Undergraduate Nursing Program at USI and submit a goals essay.

Q: When will I find out if I am accepted?
A: Letters will be sent to applicants 6 to 8 weeks after your file is complete.

Q: Who accredits the USI Nursing Program?
A: The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

Q: What are USI Nursing’s NCLEX licensure results?
A: USI Nursing’s NCLEX licensure results are above the national average on an annual basis.

Q: What are the key features of USI’s bachelors baccalauerate Nursing Program?
