that are available for USI undergraduate nursing students. To be
eligible for the scholarships, a Financial Aid Form (FAF) must be
on file in the Financial Aid Office. Further information will be
provided to students after they are admitted to the College of Nursing.

Support Opportunities Charles F. Day & Nancy Day Farmer Memorial Scholarship This $500 scholarship is for a nursing major (ASN, BSN) whose career goal is pain management or oncology nursing and may be used for tuition, fees, and books. The scholarship is automatically renewable with 3.0 GPA. Deaconess Hospital Medical Staff Nursing Scholarship This renewable scholarship for $300 is available for four full-time students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and who demonstrate financial need. R. Jack Griffis Memorial Nursing Scholarship This $300 renewable scholarship is for a Registered Nurse returning to complete a BSN. Nursing faculty selects recipient. Amelia Harrington Memorial Scholarship Two renewable $500 scholarships are provided to full time nursing students with 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to students who plan to go into Pediatric Nursing and who demonstrate financial need. Edward F. Harrison Scholarship One renewable $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a nursing student with 3.2 GPA who demonstrates need and who shows a real commitment. Drs. William H. & Trudy Mitchell Scholarship Two or three renewable scholarships are awarded for $500-$1,000 to students who are in their first or second year of nursing school and demonstrate financial need. One $500 renewable award is provided for a nursing student with a 3.0 GPA who demonstrates financial need. Ethel Mae Payne Nursing Scholarship This award is available for undergraduate and
graduate nursing students who have completed at least one semester of nursing
courses. Preference is given to students who are members of the USI
Student Nurse Association or the Indiana State Nurses’ Association, A second
preference is given to graduates of the Deaconess School of Nursing.

This scholarship provides four renewable awards to full-time nursing students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who demonstrate financial need.
One renewable award of $500 is available to a full-time second, third, or fourth year student who has a 3.2 GPA. Preference is given to a Welborn Clinic employee. -return to list
This renewable award of $500 provides assistance to a nursing student with financial need. A 3.0 GPA is required.
One renewable scholarship of $500 is awarded to a nursing student with a GPA of 3.0 who demonstrates financial need.
One $500 scholarship is available for a junior or senior nursing student who demonstrates financial need and has a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. The USI Nursing Alumni Society will award one or more scholarships annually in the amount of $250 to a nursing student(s) currently enrolled in the University of Southern Indiana Nursing Program. The money may be used for tuition, fees, and books while attending the University of Southern Indiana. Students must be currently admitted and enrolled in the University of Southern Indiana College of Nursing. Undergraduate nursing students must have completed 12 USI nursing credit hours and have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher. Consideration will be given to students who demonstrate leadership and service to their community and the nursing profession. Consideration will be given to the student’s personal and employment obligations. AfterCollege/AACN Nursing Scholarship Fund AfterCollege, the leading employment website for nursing/allied health care students and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) have partnered to offer this new scholarship program for students pursuing professional nursing education programs. This scholarship program supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Click here for more information. The number and amount of this award varies. The applicant must be an Indiana resident with a minimum 2.5 GPA who is in financial need and agrees to work in Indiana for two years. The applicant must reapply each year. Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office or the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Students who apply must be a licensed RN, a member of the Indiana State Nurses’ Association, and enrolled in an Indiana BSN-MSN program with over 50% of the nursing courses completed. Priority is given to Deaconess College of Nursing graduates. The number of awards and amount of awards vary.
