
MSN prepared nurses may apply for admission and receive a post master's certificate in the ACNP, FNP, NED, and NML specialties. Admission to the Post-Master’s Certificate option requires admission to the USI Office of Graduate Studies which includes a copy of the MSN transcript and admission to the USI Graduate Nursing Program.
To complete the ACNP and FNP Post Master's Certificate option, the applicant must 1) provide documentation of successful completion of a Pathophysiology course, 2) provide documentation of successful completion of a graduate Pharmacology course within the last five years. If the pharmacology course is older than five years, the student must repeat a 3 credit graduate level pharmacology course, and 3) The student must successfully complete an advanced health assessment course and the required specialty courses.
To complete the NED Post Master's Certificate option, the applicant must complete 15 credit hours (3 courses) in the Nursing Education specialty
To complete the NML Post Master's Certificate option, the applicant must complete 18 credit hours (6 courses) in the Nursing Management and Leadership track.
