Welcome to the Resource Guide for Success in Professional Writing ! 

The purpose of this section is to assist you in developing writing skills which are essential to success in the nursing program, as well as essential for professional nursing practice. Written communication skills are essential and, like many other skills you will master during this program, considered of primary importance by the faculty. They are also skills which you can develop and improve. Students must be able to communicate in writing on a variety of levels, from documentation of client interactions to formal research papers. Each kind of writing has certain essential elements that you will learn about as you continue in this program. The goal of this section is to review certain basics about writing in general so that when you are asked to complete an assignment, you will be able to do so successfully.

You will be directed to several very valuable websites on the Internet that will assist you with some of the concepts of successful writing as well as give you examples of proper writing, references and citations. 

We encourage you to explore this site carefully. It should assist you in successfully writing for the nursing program when used in conjunction with your APA manual and guidance provided by instructors for specific assignments.
