Dental Assisting

A Career in Dental Assisting

The Dental Assisting Program offers specialized instruction in dental assisting. The dental assistant is a valued member of the dental health team, assisting the dentist in performing professional duties at chair-side, in the laboratory, and the business office. The dental assisting graduate gains knowledge and understanding of the legal, ethical and professional standards of dental assisting; along with clinical skills to function as a member of the dental team. Statistics show that a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) who has taken the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) exam may earn an hourly salary of $16.40.

The dental assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and by the United States Department of Education.
